Buddhist Malas
Traditional Length, Quarter, and Wrist Buddhist Prayer Beads
These prayer beads are typically used in Hindu and Tibetan traditions in order to focus one's concentration during the spiritual practices of chanting or meditation.
We carry the customary 108 bead full mala and a traditional 27 bead as well as a 21 bead wrist mala, each with the decorative guru bead. The beads are strung together (symbolizing the unbroken lineage and teachings of the Buddha) with silk cord or a strong elastic cord and finished with the ornamental "endless" knot or a 108 strand tassell. You may also buy wrist malas without the tassel.
Our malas are made from sandalwood, druk glass, bodhi seeds or semiprecious stone beads. Some are imported from the Himalayan kingdoms of Tibet, Nepal and India where only the finest materials and craftmanship are used. The our other malas are made right here in the United States by our artisans using the finest quality materials and strung together with love and prayers.
